Minor issues

VW wont put privacy glass on vans, but of course they pointed me towards the Kombi and Caravalle!
Oh and neither will they put seat swivels on!

So I'm sorting my own swivels so VW can go Swivel ! I have asked for standard rear hatch window which is cost free.......but wait.........Oh I can only have the "free" window with heated rear window and wash wipe! Privacy glass and heated windows dont do to well (although conflicting info there) So I'm thinking fit the rear window and wash wipe system, then I'll just replace said window with privacy glass and at least have the wash wipe!

Further issues arise when I find out the original company I was going to get the RIB single seats from tell me the company have removed them as they do not sell that many! Mmmmmm they are produced in France and the 2+2 seating arrangement is becoming popular odd one!

So after many hours searching I came across Banwy Vans they are able to supply me the two single Altair seats. Factory order so week 23 calendar wise!

We like the HiLo poptop for its roomy bed area, but found a newish company Skyline Roofs, they offer full length LWB roof, colour coded and bed the roof also has high low end hinges! And £1200.00 cheaper than the HiLo

The Van

Ordered my VW T6 LWB Highline in Pearl Deep Black so the wait is on! 04/03/16

Factory fitted options;

6.33 media centre with ipod/usb connection (daughter and wife have those damn fruit phones!)
Single front passenger seat with armrests
Tailgate with glass and wash wipe
Drivers side sliding door (making life safer whilst on the continent!)
Towbar and electrics ( for motorbike trailer)

We have opted for the 2 + 2 seating arrangement.  Single RIB seats which convert to two single or a double bed and are fully tested with seatbelts for safety. The LWB gives us a seating area with all other units and necessities behind the seats. This also allows for the dual sliding doors.

At this moment it looks like we will fit a Hi-Lo roof system as it seems the tidiest set up and the highest "low end" opening with positive securing rather than having to strap everything down when driving. But we'll see come ordering day!

Plan of action as I will not take delivery until July 2016 is learn what I can and watch out for bargains in equipment as the months tick by.

First will be the fitting of Privacy glass to the two doors and rear hatch and possibly the roof as a new firm has opened locally but I need to visit them first to assess my confidence! And what deal they offer of course.
Then the floor and the seats will go in.

As it will be July and possibly September before it can be used with the windows, roof and seating in we could throw some camping equipment in the back and at least get some Autumn use whilst running the vehicle in and learning the new fangled Blue Motion Tech of the stop start game!

The engine is the Euro 6 so have to use Adblue basically a urea that helps to remove harmful exhaust emissions

Has its the 102 bhp version I will see how it goes but will probably get it mapped for a little more power but err on the fuel economy side as we are not interested in top speed we'll be on holiday!

I am able to fit the windows myself but if the deal is right for roof and windows it'll be done quicker  and I do not have the space to be able to work comfortably anymore and don't need the hassle ha ha.
But the rest I will build and fit myself excepting tying the heating system into the fuel tank! I'm guessing I'll need certification for that!
